Best Tips for Natural Skincare Routine

I have been searching the internet to find the best tips for a natural skincare routine. What was I looking for? Natural ingredients, of course! I found these 4 great articles that will help you start your skin care regimen as soon as possible:

1. Wash your face before anything else!

The first thing you should do in your skincare regimen is to wash your face.  If your skin doesn’t look shiny and healthy, it’s because there’s a layer of dirt on it that shouldn’t be there. The fact that your pores are open from the washing process means they’ll be more receptive to the product you’re going to use next. And as a result, you’ll see much better results.

2. Use a suitable facial moisturizer for the best skincare:

Here we go with another tip – using a good moisturizer will ensure smooth and healthy-looking skin. Moisturizing has been proven to make all sorts of benefits such as: lessen fine lines and wrinkles (by reducing the number of facial expressions), preventing dry skin, and improving elasticity. When applying moisturizer to your face it’s best to do so after washing it. This way the moisturizer will fully absorb into the skin instead of staying on top of it. “Oil-based products leave a residue because they can’t be absorbed by the skin,” says dermatologist Dr. Jessica Krant in an article for Allure Magazine. Also make sure you use a moisturizer that suits your skin type (dry, oily, normal, combination) because if not, you may end up with redness or acne!

  3. Use Coconut oil as a makeup remover:

It isn’t only great to eat; coconut oil is also excellent for moisturizing your face and removing makeup.

Just apply some on a cotton ball, wipe it over your face (including the eyes) and you’re ready to go!

  4. Face masks!

Face masks are a great way to pamper your skin. They’re especially beneficial if your skin needs some refreshing or is having certain problems that need to be addressed. face masks also help with the absorption of other products that you apply on top of them, thus making them more effective for your skincare regimen.

  • It’s best to use face masks twice a week for maximum results.
  • I hope these tips were helpful to you and helped you figure out what kind of skincare routine would suit you!

• For dry skin:

  • 1 tablespoon of raw honey
  • 1/2 ripe avocado

Mix both ingredients together and leave on for 10 minutes then wash off. NOTE: You should apply this mask to your face while it’s still dry. If you wet your skin beforehand, the honey won’t mix well with the avocado pulp because there will be too much moisture. Depending on how dry your skin is, you can make this recipe as strong or as gentle as you like by changing either ingredient (more honey for softer skin, more avocado for firmer skin).

• For oily skin:

  • 1/2 cucumber peel (do not eat!)
  • 1 egg yolk
  •  Grind the cucumber peel in a blender or food processor until it becomes a paste.

Mix the cucumber paste with the egg yolk, apply it on your face for 10 minutes, then rinse off. NOTE: This mask is great because it tightens pores and helps remove excess oil from the skin while hydrating it!

How to Apply Makeup: A Complete Step-by-Step Guide

Whether you’re planning on spending your entire day inside or your evening at an outdoor festival, protect your skin with some sun protection. Sunscreen is the first thing you should apply to your face each morning; it’s even more important than moisturizer if you plan on being outside for an extended period of time. For lighter coverage (if you’re not going to be in direct sunlight all day), try a BB cream with built-in UV protection. You can also look for makeup that has SPF included, but make sure it offers both UVA and UVB protection.

Orange peel, yogurt, and honey mask:
  • 1 tbsp. of honey
  • 1/2 tsp of orange zest
  • 1/4 cup of plain yogurt

Mix all ingredients together, apply to face for 10 minutes, and rinse off with warm water. The vitamin C in the lemon juice will reduce inflammation while the glycerin moisturizes dry skin.

Oatmeal face mask:
  • 3 tbsp. finely ground oatmeal or oat flour
  • 2 tbsp. milk or buttermilk

Place ingredients in a bowl and add more milk if needed to form a paste. Apply the mixture to your face for 30 minutes before rinsing off with cold water and patting skin dry. Oatmeal is a gentle exfoliant that also soothes and repairs damaged skin cells.

Coffee and milk face mask:
  • 1 tbsp. instant coffee
  • 2 tbsp. milk

Mix ingredients in a bowl, add more milk if needed to form a paste, and apply to your face for 30 minutes. Coffee stimulates blood flow to the skin while the lactic acid of the milk exfoliates dead cells and evens out your complexion.
